The Paperless Check Emerges in 2011

I envision a better ACH. One that lets me pay anyone from any personal or business checking account I choose without having to give up my sensitive account information or authorization to withdraw funds. It would be very secure and I would control when I choose to make a payment.

That's right Shawn. The paperless check is actually more secure with better authentication and encryption and your routing and account numbers are never exposed so someone can steal them. You never have to give anyone your sensitive bank account information with "authorization" to pull money out of your bank account. And the paperless check will be much more secure than taking a photo of a paper check (think Photoshop). Regarding record keeping, when you write a paperless check, you actually get an image of the cancelled check back in your bank statement!

Hi Ty,

Paperless checks would seem to offer a more convenient more environmentally friendly payment option than filling out check after check on dead trees. I wonder, of course, about security and record keeping, but my guess would be these would simply be challenges to be met.
