I'm from Maine, and it is scary how much of the state's cash flow is controlled through a handful of franchises, and big box retailers. If just a couple were to leave the state, it would have a crippling effect on the state's economy. I will say that more and more citizens are beginning to wake up to this notion, and are trying to become entrepreneurs, but unfortunately the state is still very liberal/socialist.
