Adam: Thanks for the information. I will check out Media.net later on. I am not sure that my sites will have several of thousands of visitors per day. I would like to get my future tea micro-site to have a decent amount of traffic, if I could figure out how I could launch it and get guest content creators.

No problem at all. All depends on the business model as to whether ads are worth while. Content strategy is a factor too.

Once you’ve got a bunch of articles, you could use HARO to source content. Either using it to find experts to provide a quote or publish a group interview roundup style post like “how to make the perfect cup of tea: 15 experts share their tips” ... the relationships you make with these people can sometimes lead to them being interested in writing guest posts for you. Alternatively, you could take a look at prominent writers in your niche and reach out to them. Writing a few guest posts can work too - that’s how I got invited to write for Jon Morrow’s blog.

Adam: Which is your favorite ad network at the moment?

It depends on the traffic of the site generally. Media.net for new sites because there are no traffic requirements. But my long-term goal is to use AdThrive for my niche sites. But I’ll need to hit 100k visitors per month before I can apply.
