Caron: Isn't a danger to give away free consultation? How will you be able to get paid later on then?

I have been sharing free advice, done pro bono work, and almost being paying for giving consultations (if you include my time doing research, preparing and planning for the meeting, and the time time and money spent on travel from A to B, and back again).

How to steer away from the potential customer who want to pick your brain, without the intention to pay in the future?
