Whether traffic is a good measure for success is determined by what your goals are for the site. For instance, if you're trying to get people to just see ads and maybe click through, that's a different goal from selling a product or service. Also, there's a problem with using conversions as a gauge. Actually, for your own info, it's fine--we all like to be honest with ourselves. But there's no way we could believe the conversion rate of other sites is accurate (is there?) since the site's owners report that and they usually have their own motivations for inflating that number publicly. What do you think?
