It's all in that final paragraph. 99% of the press releases sent out are NOT worthwhile. They don't release new information. The whole point of a news release (yes, it's the news that you release, not the press - at least not in a free country) is to announce news. So the best way to approach a news release is to first decide on what news you plan to create, then write the words to release it, not the other way around.
