When you send out an email via an email marketing service like Mailchimp or Constant Contact, they include alot of great analytical data that tracks what happens with each email you send. One of the metrics that they track is the email's Open Rate. The open rate is exactly that, how many people opened the email as a percentage of the number of emails that you sent out.
