Technically speaking, everyone has soft skills, but that doesn't mean that everyone has a high level of soft skills or that they effectively use their soft skills. Go ahead and pick a leader who really inspires you. The fact that that leader is able to inspire you and move you demonstrates that that person has, and is using, their soft skills. An example would be Martin Luther King, Jr. He was an effective preacher and an effective civil rights leader, in part, because of his excellent soft skills. If he had had the same believes but he was not able to articulate what his vision was, to the people of his time, then that would have been an example of not having the soft skills needed to get the message through to the people. We are fortunate, today, that Martin Luther King, Jr. is an example of someone who excelled in the area of soft skills and he was able to combine that with his vision to make a difference in the world.

There's often so much focus on technical skills. Could we define soft skills for the BizSugar community? And how do you go about acquiring them?
