Oh the joy of being on the leading (no, make that the bleeding) edge of technology. Earlier this week, I started a Facebook Group. Before I went off ill-advised, I read everything I could from the experts in the blogosphere about Facebook Groups.
I immediately realized that Facebook had done it again, they had revolutionized Social Media in a single blow. I heard things like, “Finally, Social Media the way it was supposed to be done,” and I listened to people rave about how Facebook had changed the game again. Since I used to manage my own IT Department, and I’m used to being on the bleeding edge of technology, and since I heard very little about the downside of the New Facebook Groups, I jumped right in and started one. (Ok, you can call me a fool if you want).

Heard many horror stories but some positive things too about the new Facebook groups. Most significant to me is the ability of friends to add you to groups (without asking) or of friends to grant access to an exclusive group to their friends. (Do I have that right?) Both seem to undermine use as a collaborative tool. We'll see.
