Talking about "thick skin" - I remember I wrote about philanthropy on Noobpreneur.com 3 years ago and it's becoming quite popular as I "slammed" businesses using charities to boost their image, insisting that if you really want to help, just stay away from using philanthropy as a marketing tool. I got dozens of comments and most of them disagreeing with my view. Pretty depressing at that time, but I can see clearly now :)

On the flip side, it's great to get my blog some exposure much needed early in its life :)

I think persistence is the key factor in blogging. A lot of the "drama" of blogging can get new bloggers depressed; the trolls, the painstaking SEO strategy, and the sheer time it can take to build a following can make bloggers lose sight of the fact that each connection, each post, eventually creates a thing of beauty (and hopefully profit)--a community and a body of work with tangible value both to visitors and the blogger. Keep fighting the good fight!
