From May 25th 2011, a EU wide privacy directive will come into effect. If implemented in Ireland this law would then make the use of third party cookies on a website without the prior consent of the user, illegal

Hi Beatrice!

I don't mind sharing links & such, but I'm pretty private when it comes to my spending/buying habits - basically my habits, likes, and dislikes, period. If I buy a DVD of "Mission: Impossible" from Amazon, I don't want it analyzed (maybe it isn't even for me), and I don't want them attempting to anticipate what I might like based on what I've searched. Most of all, I don't want them emailing "suggestions", "reminders" & "deals". Maybe it's a good thing they're doing.
