Another reason why a guest blogging campaign may fail, in terms of generating quality traffic and leads, is that the blogger fails to understand his or her audience and starts to guest blogging on every blog that allows him or her to do so. Often times, a lot of these can be told by just looking at the analytics report. This may even have an effect on his or her content. Imagine a blogger, who is trying to attract clients for a writing service, is guest blogging a lot about how bloggers can charge a high price for their writings. Imagine what potential clients will think of the blogger."
I agree that many brands today are only focusing on either being proactive and reactive with their social media presence. Another factor that may influence where the magic middle is could also be what does the management see as the function of their social media team. Communicating to the management that a balance is needed for social media rather becoming great channel at either getting leads or sales through promotions or increasing customer satisfaction (funnily, number of complaints attended too is still a common metric) can still be quite hard in many organization these days."
Most businesses are too scared of asking their blog readers to sign up whenever they can. Start placing the sign up box whenever you can (after a blog post, on top of the sidebar, before the content or if you want to try the extreme, an unblockable popup). Some of these may hurt usability but they helped to increased the number of subscribers for many blogs."
Nice list of tools. I'm using Evernote more recently and I'm quite close to becoming a paid member. Another tool that I use for my blogging is Podio, a project management app. It has helped me organize post ideas, managing my interaction with readers and influencers as well as content that I am going to share on social networks."
I don't have a business partner at the moment but I do realize the benefits of having one. Having a partner with complementing skill sets will give me more flexibility in managing and doing business-related tasks that I actually like doing. Right now, I am still looking for someone who is technical in programming but this shouldn't be an excuse not to spend time and effort to grow my business. :)"
There is a downside with using LinkedIn Groups, which is a feature that bears the closest similarity as Answers. However, there are a couple of downsides. Most groups on LinkedIn are not active and the active ones are filled with spam. Some tips on how to counter this is shared in the article. :)"
Hi Heather, you're welcome. I am exploring different groups that I can be a part of. I truly believe that Groups can be a great relationship building tool if efforts are focused on providing value to other group members. Do you mind sharing groups that you like the most?"
