Keyword Research Tools: Find An Alternative To Google’s Keyword Tool
"I'm not sure, Martin. I have been wondering that myself but Google is making a habit of discontinuing the good stuff. Or buying out services and just letting them rot (e.g. Feedburner). It was a shame they did discontinue it because it was incredibly useful."Keyword Research Tools: Find An Alternative To Google’s Keyword Tool
"Personalised search has been around a while, there's over 50+ factors that will alter the results you get from Google - right down to the web browser. I do think there's going to be much more focus on this in the future - not that I want there to be. I don't like being forced into a filter bubble but that's just me."7 Tips For Planning Your Content Better Than Before
"Hi Heather, Thanks for a great comment. That’s it, planning and testing has what works has taught me quite a lot. Good point about competitors, I should have clarified this a bit more in the post – you’re right, what works for our competitors may not work for us and there are a range of factors. Despite that I do find it a good starting point to find exactly what is performing well. The way that I see it, broadly targeting keywords is the way to go right now. Ranking for individual keywords can be tricky, it’s not impossible but certain keywords can be difficult. You are right, targeting the same keyword as a competitor would mean the phrase gets more competitive but it’s necessary. By looking at what competitors are ranking for and aren’t ranking for you can find content gaps that you can fill and find the keywords that are potentially driving traffic to your competitors. There may be times when there is a keyword that a competitor ranks for that you may choose not to try to target – this may be because it sits outside of your skill set or you have decided that it’s just too competitive. Although if it’s a relevant keyword then producing a piece of content that targets it specifically might not be such a bad idea. It also helps to look at content gaps not only as a keyword to rank also for but a type of content to use, e.g. group interviews. I hope that makes sense : ) "8 Important Things to do After Installing WordPress
"Hi Heather, Good question - the way I see it these are all tasks that should be done before you launch your blog so they would be done at a similar time. I'm sure everyone could disagree as to how they're prioritized because everyone has a different perspective. I look at it as how I'd build a blog before launching and under those circumstances I'd actually use the order Dev has used in the post."How to Get More Eyeballs on Your Content Without An Established Audience
"My pleasure Martin, BizSugar is one of the best for sure. Not exactly, I keep everything in a master calendar where I block out my time. I break this into client work/emails/content writing/engaging and sharing on social (mostly Twitter and Google+) etc. Have you?"How to Get More Eyeballs on Your Content Without An Established Audience
"Nope, strangely I find that it works for me but only if I am very loose with it. Got to always be flexible even if the coloured blocks say that I'm not allowed haha. Yeah it's pretty strange, I yo-yo between task management tools so often and land back on a spreadsheet most of the time."Subscribe
