Adam, I bought my latest used laptop at some company in Tel Aviv that refurbishes old laptops. The company says it's a great green approach, but here, where electronics are hugely expensive it just made financial sense. When Yoni's mom heard how good the prices were, she offered to buy him one. He said "what the hell would I do with a freaking laptop?" When she persisted, he said if she got him one he would send it back. She also offered to buy him a cellphone several years back and he said the same thing. Go figure. Yoni is sleeping since he will be away for a few days but I'm going to vote for you from his account...shhh...our secret!"
It will be interesting to see Al. Especially here where IKEA is a huge deal and Naziism -I think that's a word- hits deeply. I have my hopes up of a big scandal but as a realist, it probably will die down. Rivkah."
BTW Al and Devon, When I saw this story this morning I googled it under "news." It was being carried on four websites. I just googled it again and that number is up to 200. I guess it's spreading so we'll have to see what emerges. Rivkah"
If They Capture Gadaffi Alive, They Should Torture Him...By Making Him Watch This Video...Over and Over and Over"The Ceasescu video might be graphic but he got what he deserved. Never forget the orphanages in Romania where kids lived in abject squalor and thousands died of starvation. A hideous excuse for a human being."
Duncan, I have mixed feelings and am very wary. Maybe even paranoid. If these countries become true democracies or something similar I will look back and laugh. If however they become hardcore radical regimes (example - post-Shah Iran), we might look back on the good old days of these dictators. Maybe I'm thinking too hard? R."
