In the early times (I am talking about 2006-2011 and not the stone age), expandable storage was in it’s boom. A flagship phone had to have expandable storage and consumers fell in love with it and they had every right to be. They were cheap, portable, small, came in varied capacities and were reliable to a certain extent. After the iPhone was announced it was a question mark on whether the absence of an expandable storage would work to their benefit because at that time top manufacturers like Nokia and Samsung, all were offering expandable storage and were doing quite well in the market. As it turns out, it did.
