Everything we do in business is marketing; from how we answer our phones, to our billing, to how we treat future and existing customers. Marketing is about more than attracting new customers to do business with us – it s about keeping, nurturing, and “wowing” the ones we have so they buy from us again and again and rant and rave about our company to everyone they know

Yoni- there is definitley something to creating "buzz" and doing some kind of annoying jingle, commercial or other tactic to stay on people's minds - even if it is slightly annoying. But what is NOT good for business is annoying them by providing lousy customer service... different types of annoyance!

Thanks for your comment - it's a good point!

Fortune,

I can't find the original study, but here is The Guardian's take:

Fortune,

I recently read that annoyance is GOOD! Well, in one regard: jingles. A study was done, I have to run so can't look for it now...but it showed that annoying, repetitive jingles are highly-effective. They actually stay in peoples' minds far longer and make a deeper impression than their non-annoying counterparts. And it does translate into business...

See if there's a local "drop-off" service for laundry. I love it: I get it back ironed & on hangers in plastic for about what it would cost in detergent & softener - and I don't have to stand around for hours watching my clothes spin.
