One of the things I like doing is to phone or at least send a personalized email to interesting people I meet on Twitter - and hook up with one person a day. This started as a New Year's Resolution and I kept it up well for quite a while, but I slip regularly. The easy part is that I schedule this at the end of my day, as I'm wrapping up and too tired to work any more. With the time difference this is usually early morning US time. This works very well for me.
