Yes, I think we can relate to each other specially because we don't differ much in culture( if ever it might have an effect on the business ). It's the skills that matters more when doing a job.

I would also add that you should always be in the hiring mode. It doesn't mean you continue to advertise, but you should be in the lookout for best candidates. If you find one do not hesitate to bring him on board. You never know when you must hire someone as a result of someone leaving. When you have to hire someone in a hurry you end up not getting the best candidate.

Hiring family and friends is definitely something I might think first before I do. Assess your family and friends base on skills not on relations. If they are good with what they do, hire them, if not, let them know in a decent manner that they are not capable for the job.

Agreed. It is harder to cut ties with family and friends when the need arises.
