A online startup or small business needs a few things in order to start driving traffic and building up a base of customers - namely, "good content" and "reach". Ultimately, this means that you must generate new and engaging content for your business blog right from the start.

Hi Yoni,

I don't mean $6000 a month to blog at all - that's not what the article is about. It's more about finding synergy by creating content that benefits you inderectly by enhancing reputation and reach.

I submitted several links in the article. The one that speaks directly to the "$6000 a month" salary comes from the writers compensation guide supplied by About.com - here it is again: http://beaguide.about.com/gdcomp.htm

You are welcome to dispute that figure with them.

Dodge,

I do appreciate the clarification. I didn't mean any disrespect, it's just that you hear a lot of get-rich-blogging things lately.

I agree that indirect income is the best way to monetize a blog. I don't advertise on my blog, rather I use it to gain customers.

Thanks for your additional commentary...much appreciated!

Yoni

I am wary, to say the least. $70,000+ per year to blog? Maybe a handful with names like Brogan and Kawasaki, but I just don't think it's realistic.

If you mean people with ads all over their blog pages, they are the kind I click out of right away; it feels like I'm in Times Square, not a blog.

I checked out the link-page that was provided in the article...I'm VERY skeptical.

Respectfully,

Yoni
