As a small business owner I find myself constantly chasing technological and marketing advances in our industry. I live in constant concern that a competitor may discover the latest social networking buzz site before I do. Or that some gadget, I don't even know exists, may be helping improve workflow efficiencies for someone else. There are such a myriad of social networking opportunities and blogs that might prove better than the next. Frankly, it's exhausting.
I shared these same thoughts with a very dear friend of mine lately and he told me that he too felt victim of this "chase" as he referred to it. He sent me this link and things became clearer. We all need to get back to basics and although the chase is important to keep up with trends, more emphasis on needs to be placed on good old fashion time tested rules for success- the basics.
Getting back to basics.
