Hey Nicole,

This is an excellent post, and really enjoy reading it. You bring up some very valid points, but I would still say you need to have some SEO or keyword integrated naturally within content. Though at the end of the day humans are the ones that your writing for that's why it must be a seamless integration of keywords. That kind of writing take a lot of practice, skill, and hard work.

Thanks for sharing and look forward to connecting more,

Thanks for the kind words, Eric! I definitely agree about using keywords -- the key, though, is to find that perfect balance. And, yes, it can be a lot tougher than it looks! :)

Hi Nicole,

The idea of content marketing having a specific "voice" is similar to the idea of a "human" approach to social media or a "voice" to your blog. It makes a lot of sense and I think, to some degree, can be tied to the idea of a personal brand. Customers want a connection not simply a sales pitch and I think that's what we're talking about here, making a connection with your customer. It's customer service 101!

I'm all for "human content". I can't stand the rehased seo optimized, robotic jargon that most bloggers and content marketers publish. True content marketing is about writing content for the PEOPLE and emotionally relating to them in a way that helps them and enriches their business and lives. Thanks for sharing your insights with our bizsugar community on this topic.
