Obviously you understand the power of comments since you are commenting here. :)

You are also right on how few people comment on blogs, I would bet that if I did the math on my blog, my comment rate would be less than 0.5%.

You're absolutely right about the importance of commenting, Chris. Not that the comments will have any great SEO impact in terms of the weight of back links. But it's an important part of getting your name out there and hopefully the karma you will generate in community building will come back to your blog. The amazing thing is how few people do it.
