I’m pretty sure the fact that I use forums may date me. But they are a useful tool when it comes to business. I like to think as forums as on of the original social networks. You could come together with like-minded individuals for some pretty in-depth conversations.

Forums are definitely not dead although some forum communities aren't as active as they are before.

Very true. I'm finding it difficult to find active communities. Many have moved to Facebook and unless invited are difficult to find.

Great post. Forums are definitely NOT dead, they are still very much alive! In fact, forums are the bet and fastest way to drive a TON of laser targeted to your website. I would suggest that when you're engaging in forum marketing that you focus on providing a ton of value that compels people to click the link in your sig file. I personally drive all the drive that comes from forum marketing to a simple landing page that offers a free report of some sort. This works extremely well for building a quality list really fast.
