Social media seems to be so much work! I have a business to run, and I'm not interested in adding more workload to my day. This is the conclusion a potential client drew from a discussion we had on strategy and monitoring a couple of days ago.

I think people try to join every social network that comes out. It's impossible to be participate in all of them. That's why I am only concentrating of a few.

Yup, Cendrine. Social media is a lot of hard work but it's well worth it. Plus, in my experience, you see the ROI much quicker - depending on what your measuring - in my case traffic and engagement. Thanks for sharing your insights and experience with us.

Hi Cendrine,

Very few business owners seem to grasp just how hard social media truly is when they get started. More than simply placing a post on your Facebook page or a tweet on your Twitter feed is necessary. Establishing engagement with your community is most important. Like building any other relationship, this takes time and effort.
