Good tips! Sorting out the items to read later (e.g., newsletters) from items that require a response (e.g., client inquiries) is also helpful. Gmail filters are great and can do this for you automatically, which keeps your inbox free from clutter.

Very handy tips Holly. Something else I have done to help is create different email addresses eg [email protected], [email protected] etc etc. This way I can easily compartmentalise a lot of my incoming email so I know what it's about and if urgent to look at or not.
