Often when you hear the word "comfort" your thoughts go to fuzzy slippers, a big hug, the family pet sleeping beside you, being inside when the weather storms outdoors -- anything that reminds you of being safe, secure, worry-free and at peace. Growing up, most young people spend a lot of time living in a "comfort zone." Parents endeavor to shield their children from the hard knocks of life. But the bumps, scrapes, and bruises are where you learn the most. Any effort to stay within your comfort zone is meaningless. At some point life will throw you a curve ball, kicking you from your comfort to the curb.

I loved the line: "Savvy competitors have an edge because they have learned how to get the butterflies in their stomach to fly in formation."

Although I'm all for education, I'd say the school system in my day basically prepared young people to be complacent - to expect structure. In my generation (I'm mid 50's), people used to expect to be able to work most of their life for one company, which compounded that feeling. I've read that gen Y is the 1st generation that doesn't expect to keep 1 job forever - that's a good thing.
