Working from home has a TON of perks, but there is a downside. First, the majority of work at home jobs available are for independent contractors and freelancers, which means you’re responsible for your own taxes. Second, most gigs don’t offer employee benefits, so no health insurance, no paid vacation, no sick leave, and no matching 401(k) retirement plan. All these things must be taken into consideration when you decide to work from home.
