$1 Billion Tumblr Deal Turns 26-Year-Old Founder into Mega-Millionaire
"Hi Martin, For the benefit of both the Small Business Trends and BizSugar communities, could you explain a bit more about what specific benefits you see in Tumblr and how you use the platform for the niches you've mentioned here?"Why A Unique Brand Can Make or Break Your Freelancing Business
"Hi Mary, All great points. One might ask the question, why does a business need a brand at all? The answer is that, if all other things are equal, you are competing on price and this will invariably lead to a race to the bottom. The alternative is to stand apart, to be known for the individual qualities you, and no one else, could bring to the table. Thanks for sharing on BizSugar! "Making Your Business Website Mobile: Do I Need an App for That?
"Adam and Steve, Thanks so much for this great video putting into perspective the differences facing small businesses when trying to make their content relevant for an increasingly mobile world. I'd agree that creating a responsive website is certainly a good option giving plenty of flexibility. However, I also think there are benefits to creating native apps for some of the more popular operating systems, say iOS and Android. Each provides a slightly different opportunity to connect with customers. "Hey Jamie, Interesting analysis and, Derek, thanks for sharing it on your blog. Enjoyed connecting with this post via the BizSugar community and think it's a great way to understand how the big guys handle competition. I'm not certain this kind of rivalry is always productive with sites that, in many ways, provide a much different experience and share many of the same users. Something to think about for small online entrepreneurs too!"Using Your Blog for Reputation Management
"Hi Marion, Reputation management is a great use for your blog. I especially like your first point about giving people a specific place to complain. Having said this, I would add one caveat. Be prepared for complaints to come your way on any channel customers have open to them. This could be your Facebook page, Twitter stream, Yelp page, blog comment section, on their own blog...the list goes on and on. The moral of the story is that just because you give people a place to complain doesn't mean that's where they'll do it. Thankfully your blog also gives you the opportunity to address these issues as they arise. Loved reading your post on the BizSugar community.
