For years I've heard a different definition of CYA (Cover Your Arse) than blaming others when one is actually at fault: Being sure all your i's are dotted & all your t's are crossed - being sure all your ducks are in a row to insure success by anticipating all possible problems before they occur, and being sure that proper procedure was followed in every step.
