"Interesting concepts, Doc! Actually, polyphony began in Europe in the Medieval era when plainchant added 1st a drone tenor, then c850 movement in parallel harmony (not the 3rds & 6ths that are widely used now - they were considered discordant, but in the "perfect" harmonies - 4ths & 5ths), then slightly more independent voice movement in the melismatic organum of Leonin & Perotin by c1200. From there the conductus & motet developed eventually into three voice parts - always in triple time (in deference to the holy trinity, since the only polyphonic music was sacred). That takes us to the 13th C, when organs were bellows powered. The piano was a way off. businessavante"Facebook Marketing: Ultimate Guide
"Great & very thorough article, w/tons of great graphics! I love the "spy" pic. I'd be nice if the community could agree on a nicer word than "Lurker" - maybe Reader/Contributor/Leader? (I don't mean to put this on you at Spike - I'm just throwing it out there.) businessavante"The Problem with Goals - MarketingProfessor.com
"Good points, TJ! Scores of battles lost have cost umpteen thousands of lives because the "iron willed" leader was inflexible w/their goals/plans/strategy/tactics. If you don't lead from the front, and adapt your plans according to the changes as they occur, the result may be devastation. Some generals have said that the plan is perfect right up to the 1st few shots fired, then all is in flux. businessavante"I Like You, But I Don’t Know If I Love You :: Small Business Marketing Blog from Duct Tape Marketing
"If I think an article is good, I'll like OR recommend it - but the button has to be there. I always consider the like & recommend buttons as interchangeable - they accomplish the same thing. Once I've enjoyed reading a post, I don't sit there sweating over whether I should recommend it any more than whether i should like it. The main thing is that way too few bloggers have either button. businessavante"Subscribe

"Wonderful, Yoni! Another life taken by Gilligan reruns - the graveyards are dotted with his victims! The allure is just too strong, mere human flesh too weak! businessavante"
