7 Ways to Increase Creativity in America
Posted by B2CMKTG under NewsFrom http://www.b2cmarketinginsider.com 5181 days ago
Recently, Newsweek reported that research shows that creativity in America is declining for the first time. Kyung Hee Kim at the College of William & Mary discovered after analyzing roughly 300,000 intelligence test scores of adults and children that since 1990 creativity scores have slowly been declining. The most serious decline occurred in the scores of children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The potential consequences could be damaging to our nation’s long-term economic growth as these youths are the future of our country and creativity and innovation are a large part of our nation’s backbone. A recent IBM poll of 1,500 CEOs identified creativity as the #1 leadership competency of the future. Below are 7 ways for correcting this issue before it becomes a huge problem

Had a lunch meeting with a sales exec this past Friday, a prospective client. A colleague brought us together and it was the first time I’d had contact with the man. Ever leave a meeting and have this feeling that the other person was somehow different/unique/better in some way, but couldn’t quite put your finger on why? That’s the feeling I’ve had all weekend and it finally hit me why I felt that way

I promised Susan Oakes a couple of days ago to post this article from a blogger I always enjoy reading, Sonia Simone of Copyblogger, in response to Susan's post "Your Customers Have The Need But Do They Have The Desire?" Check it out on her blog, M4B Marketing, or here at BizSugar posted about four days ago. In the post, in turn a response to another post from Stoney deGeyter of Search Engine Guide, Susan argues that "You need to work out the difference between those customers having a need and those that actually have a desire to take action." Susan is definitely right as far as she goes, but Sonia takes it one step further. Those customers with a "desire to take action" may just be the tip of the iceberg!

It’s a Saturday. It’s past 5:00 PM. I’ve been locked up in an orchestra rehearsal room with eight other unpaid compatriots for the last seven hours. That was after two hours of prep at home this morning. It was an “extra” meeting of the Cobb Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees. We’re in the midst of a search for a new Executive Director and trying to figure out how to survive financially in an economy that has absolutely hammered non-profits coast to coast. We’ll be fine, but only because the group is so fully committed. The time and effort, though, is really wearing. It’s almost like having a second full time job
