Yelp and other online review sites have certainly taken a beating in recent weeks. That's because of a credibility gap between the these sites and their audiences over questions repeatedly raised about fake reviews. These reviews are allegedly written by paid freelancers to repair a bad online reputation or, just as likely, to create a good reputation for new businesses where none currently exists. They could also be posted by competitors seeking to tarnish a businesses good reputation. The Better Business Bureau believes they have a better answer. Simply verify every customer review before it's published.
