Some sales people get to distracted by superficial things, while failing to dig down and get to the real facts. Just as you can't judge a book by its cover, you can't win customers by staying on the surface of the issues.

I think anyone who uses the word "Retarded" to describe human behavior is opening up a can of worms and inviting criticism. There was a post here a while back asking if workers were like slaves. There was a great response about the cruelties of slavery. It was a bad analogy. I also read a post a while back (not on Biz Sugar) asking "is your boss a Hitler?" Again, VERY bad analogy. You have to be careful what you say, it's not PC, it's common sense.

Duncan, there is a unit of the IDF that started out as a pilot program and is now in full swing. People with Down's Syndrome were recruited to participate in supply and logistics units doing things like shipping, packing rations and supplies etc. It has turned out very well and their work is hardly retarded. You are right, some people don't get it!
