To me it doesn't make sense to pay for FB likes; what the point of it anyway? If you have a huge number of likes displayed with no real engagement on your page, it defeats the purpose.

You make an excellent point. For those just getting their feet wet in Facebook marketing, paying for targeted likes may be their only option. Especially if they are not a large, well known brand. Relying on family and friends for likes doesn't always hit your target market. Thanks for chiming in!
