In today's world filled with social media, many small business owners are wondering if they need a website at all. The answer is a resounding "yes!" Facebook and other sites are great tools for attracting new customers, but they only represent part of the puzzle.

Hi Kim,

This is a wonderfully written piece and very informative. You do a great job at breaking down the specific reasons why businesses still need websites outside of Facebook. I completely agree with your points. At the end of the day, Facebook at anytime can decide to take down your page.

With a website only YOU have the power to take it down. YOU have full say so over it and that's the true power of having/owning your own website.

I would also emphasize the importance of building a customer/subscriber list as well from your website. With a loyal customer list, you'll always be in business.
