One thing I've noticed about some people moving, is that when they are moving only a few miles they still pack everything as if they're shipping it across country via big rig. If you're only moving a short distance the amount of packing cab be specific to the fragility of the items in question. i.e. Why wrap & box up uniforms or clothes - a bag will do, and is easier to lift & carry. I say this after some experience in shipping & receiving in the early 90's.
