CareerCurve™ - Where Coaching Counts
"This post has great insights! In today's workplace forward-thinking companies are investing more in the training of managers. When employees are promoted from within, training must occur no matter how skilled the worker. And with the team-based trend going strong right now, if a manager fails it's now the fault of the training, not the manager...very interesting. Perhaps this creates buy in for employees, since now they know if they fall short as managers they will be seen as simply in need of re-training."Can You Be Trusted?
"Agreed. Integrity is something you just can't fake. I think any staff are sensitive to whether or not their leaders are honest and forthright, and dishonesty always undermines any effort in the long run. But what do you do when you are being honest and you still have a tarnished reputation among employees, perhaps due to rumors or the lies of competitors? Maybe some pro-active personal reputation management is a good tool for maintaining one's integrity both within and without your company. Hmmm..."On Being Laid Off
"I'm sorry to hear about this, bigcajunman, but think many others in this community can probably relate to your plight and have, at one time or another, shared it. My hope is that other members of the community will reach out to you too and perhaps share some helpful information and options in these difficult days. I'm sure everyone in the community wishes you the best. "You Do Not Have to Be Under 30 to Be a Startup Success
"I absolutely believe that people over 30 make some of the very best entrepreneurs. By the time you reach your late 30's the kids are less dependent and you have the time, patience, and focus to carry out the many necessary, but often arduous steps in starting your own business. Also, you have a better idea of what a broader ranger of people want--you know what people in your own age group and older want, and if you don't know what people under 30 want you have the sense to do the research and find out. Great post!"Small Business Cloud Applications Forecasts in 2012
"Hi GetApp, This list pretty much reinforces the impression I've had, that cloud computing, at least for SMBs and small businesses will involve a few services here and a few services there instead of a complete immersion. Part of it may have to do with the numbers of providers who have different specialties, part with the very diverse needs of the small business community. "Subscribe

"This is all about finding that under-served population, that niche, and using it to your advantage, providing great alternatives to other businesses or services that don't quite meet the mark, and fulfilling your entrepreneurial dream. Interesting!"
