The Growing Trend of People NOT Saying Thanks
"Hi Morgan. Lots of busy people would rather not get the automated "thank you" - they take up time, and no matter how elaborately it's phrased, we all know it's automated. Instead of a sincere thanks, it's a time-waster. We assume promoting them is appreciated - why wouldn't it be when it's to their benefit? Duncan"Protecting Your Company's Network Security
"Interesting, Douglas. In "Mission: Impossible" (Color '66-'73), team leader Jim Phelps (actor Peter Graves) purposely targeted weak spots - especially if the leader had a vulnerability (like believing in flying saucers, or tarot cards - silly, I know, but it was good entertainment). He set up his plans like a chess game (which he was sometimes shown sitting next to, while butting-out a cigarette completing his plans - a southpaw). He depended on the bad guys reacting in the "only logical way possible", then let them believe their reactions were of their own making - the whole time they're being lead around by the nose (which I find particularly funny). But if people leave their passwords on sticky-notes - even the Hamburglar could pull off a major job! Duncan"How to Tap Into the Grandparent Market
"Hi Rieva. This definitely jibes with what I've seen - grandparents in their 30's, even. I think this might create a double-layer of "sandwich generations" in the middle supporting both ends - parents & young grandparents supporting their own children and grandchildren, and assisting their aged great-grandparents (though not necessarily financially in the latter case). "Look on the bright side, Peter - you're obviously "Hack-Worthy" (a Seinfeld reference, for the unwashed). Duncan"
