The Case Against Case Studies…
"I totally agree, Rick. In scientific terms, case studies have no value at all - they are devoid of any substance that could possibly be logically applied to any other 'case' that might come up. i.e. Case Studies are & always were a lot of hot air. (The worst example we might see daily are diet & exercise 'Before & After' pictures, with bad lighting/harsh shadows, glare, off-angles, and ill-fitting clothes in the 'before', and a perfectly shot 'after'. These are actually only 1 rung below the elaborate "studies" proving how great a product or service is.) Duncan"The Gender of Finance with Carol Roth
"Hi Nicole. I think whether it's an issue, and how big an issue it becomes is all dependent on each individual's personal point of view. Someone who's very "gender-involved" will see it differently than those who aren't, because they'll pass everything they perceive through that filter 1st, before judging what's what. I hope that helps. Duncan"The Hipster Email Marketing Handbook
"Hi Rebekah. I believe Kramer was a "Hipster-Dufus"*. *(A role Michael Richards also did as a regular on "Fridays", an SNL-like show from 4/'80-10/'82. Larry David was also a cast member, but it was Jerry who insisted that Richards join the Seinfeld cast.) Duncan"Five Tips to Deal with Rude People
"Interesting, Doc, but I don't think it's generally on the increase at all. Look at how people behaved in the 1910's & 20's - at ball games when Ty Cobb played. It was mayhem. Civility goes up & down slightly over time, and I think Too Many people see "now" as the worst time in history because so much more crime is reported to police & the news - WWII should be enough to wipe that away, if you think back a little. Duncan "Talent - A Thing Or A Process?
"Hi Todd. No one makes it to the top w/o hard work - but I believe some people are innately talented - they just have a MUCH better knack or aptitude than most people. I've seen some of the documentation on the 10,000 hour bit - it's impressive (Malcolm Gladwell's life work) - and massive, but nobody will ever convince me that Leonardo or Beethoven were 2 guys who just tried a little harder - put in a few more hours (since we're all limited to 24/day). Innate ability Does exist - to say it doesn't is just as wrong as saying those who became great didn't work their 'arses' off. Duncan"Subscribe
12 Most Compelling Reasons I Do Not Follow Everyone Back
"Excellent, Aliza! I concur. There're too many freaks & weirdos on Twitter - some who start out looking innocuous, then 're-direct' into a drug, gambling, or porn site. I'm VERY careful - and even then I get retweets or @'s of stuff I find offensive. Just yesterday I booted the retweeter & blocked the offensive source (and that's After checking who she followed Before I followed her back). If I don't like it, I Don't want my name & picture hovering over it!! Duncan"
