How much is social media really changing the mind set of Genertaion Y?
"Generation "WHY???" If I was a kid growing up today I would fail school and be a hobo riding Amtrak trains and drinking a bottle of "Night Train" everyday. Man, I found it hard enough to concentrate in 8th grade with textbooks, homework, spitballs and Playboy. The photo you chose is appropriate, I bet without the sunglasses, the kid would have lifeless, blank staring eyes. Yoni"Living in Bloggers paradise!
"Peter, I'm really enjoying your posts a lot. Unfortunately, however, I have no mobile phone (by design) and haven't owned a camera since the 80s (a Polaroid). BTW: our televison was born in 1996. There are drawbacks of being tech-phobic, but I love the TV and refuse to buy a new one until this one breaks. Yoni"Are Free and Hope Your Marketing Strategies?
"Susan, It was risky, an act of complete desperation at a time when my phone did not ring and my inbox was empty. I knew I had the talent (said humbly) but I was not yet a proven entity. TJ: You are right, it is about building relationships and all it takes sometimes is a bit of effort. I agree, BRAVO to Susan, for again presenting us with her wonderful wisdom! Yoni"Is Charging for Online Content the Way of the Future?
"Mir, I visited a blog recently in which the blogger stated that he was considering making some of his online content for paying customers only. I was pretty taken aback. As far as media goes, our local online paper now charges for certain "premium stories." I really don't see too many people shelling out $10 a month for access to these stories...there is far too much info which is free. Yoni"Sheen Is Winning Millions Of New Fans Now That He Hasn't Got A Job
"Charlie Sheen is a big train-wreck. He might be making millions but at what cost to his reputation? Coke, porn and hookers...not the best way to brand yourself. I think that most people are watching him in the expectation of seeing his implosion. I would not be surprised in the near future, unfortunately, to read his obituary. Yoni"Encouraging Autonomy to Get More Done
"Very nice read. It's one of the reasons I ditched the 9-5 life to become a freelancer. I worked for a company where bosses looked over our shoulders like hawks to make sure we didn't deviate from the status-quo. Their mantra was "we pay you to do, not to think independently." Their mindset was, "if we trusted you to operate independently, you would be bosses like us, not the little peons that you are!" It sucked. Now I have all of the autonomy I want and need...as well as a crappy freelancer paycheck :( Yoni"Perceptions, Biases, & Stereotypes: Accepting Differences in Thinking in Business & Life
"Adam, Great post and excellent advice. It could be a great presentation at a conference or webinar. You are correct that our perceptions cloud our visions. I wrote a letter to Google about a year back after doing a search of images for "businesspeople." The problem? They were all WHITE! I got a nice letter back from a PR guy at Google. I did a search about 2 weeks later and it appeared as it does now: Africans, African-Americans, Cauasians, Hispanics, Orientals. Much more realistic. And hey, I REALLY enjoyed that Dolph Lundgren article! Thanks buddy! Yoni"Subscribe
7 Common-Sense Habits That Will Help You Build a Thriving Business
"Don't forget "reward oneself for a job well done." Mine consists of a mid-day walk with the dogs in the woods and wadis, a pint of Guinness every evening and bowling nite as often as I can. Yoni"
