I’ll admit it.
I hate formal networking.
But sometimes I feel like I’m in the minority. Or maybe I’m just one of the few who’ll openly admit to a distaste for an ‘adult’ version of classroom ‘show and tell?’
I read an article recently that described networking as “like speed dating, except with ugly people early in the morning. And with none of the potential benefits.”

I recommend you to check out the official BNI podcast and listen to Dr. Ivan Misner's thoughts on this topic.
I am for the free form of a networking event and unconference at the same time, but I understand and I have see how effective a tight business network like BNI could work for you as a small business owner.
