As a experienced purchaser and cost analyst, I understand the power of cutting costs. But please remember it could have a price! ;) Lean, TQM, Kaizen, etc. are all good tools for cutting costs and implement quality in the process at the same time. I recommend you that you check out the works by Dr. Goldratt and his theory of constraints.

Business really is all about money and when you can not control money, you cant control business thus making you blind about what is all going on. You can not just smile and say "I have lots of money", because the money slipping your fingers is the money you worked hard with.
