Can we stop bashing Google+ now?
"Hi Cendrine, Certainly, Google+ traffic is a drop in the ocean compared to massive communities like Facebook, but I don't think numbers should be the deciding factor. Who are you targeting on Google+? Is it a different audience than you connect with on Facebook, on LinkedIn, on Twitter? How do you communicate with them and what do they add to your business?"Why I'm Taking Facebook and Twitter Off My Business Cards
"Rachel, Glad to see you're taking your business to the next level! More modern marketing firms should see the possibilities beyond Facebook and Twitter and thanks so much for sharing this post with the BizSugar community, but I'm not sure I completely agree with you on this one. See, increasingly, I believe, people hiring consultants for this kind of work want to see it comes naturally to them in the same way talking on the phone does, and, no, to this day not everyone is on Facebook, Twitter, or even LinkedIn. I think, instead of subtracting, I'd want to add my LinkedIn profile and maybe my Google+ account and a YouTube channel, if you have one. Sure there may be a different mix of social media tools in the future, but frankly, I think the ones I've mentioned will probably be there at least until you run out of cards. It's great to draw traffic through your own Website too, and social media might only be a dimension of what you do, but it's an important one and something I believe clients increasingly want to see, no matter how your business is changing."11 Common Time Management Issues When Working From Home
"Timo, When you're right, you're right. Working from home brings with it many advantages, but there are plenty of challenges too. Thanks for this great post that I think pretty accurately explains to the uninitiated home worker just what they are in for and thanks for sharing the post on the BizSugar community."How Small Businesses React to GoDaddy Outage
"It's been a hard day for many business Websites. Thanks for sharing a bit of what went on and some reaction from other business owners. The post has been shared over on the BizSugar community and I think users there too were thankful to learn more of the details."Charging Hourly Rate vs. Charging Flat Rate
"Matthew, I think you're right as far as the times you may want to charge hourly vs. a flat fee. When there are established deliverables (a certain number of blog posts needing to be written within a certain time frame or a logo design or other project with a certain number of envisions etc. a flat fee would seem to be the way to go. If, however you are being hired to monitor a site during certain hours, I think an hourly rate must be the way to go. Thanks for sharing this post on BizSugar. "Subscribe
Price negotiation: 5+1 ways to win with purchasing managers
"Bernd. Number one is so important, because I think there's an instinct with many small businesses that dropping prices will lead to more interest and sales. It can also lead to more work at less pay. Thanks."
