"Hi Alastair While I know there's no magic in SEO, it does take constant application, and keeping up with change which seems to be every other minute these days. I agree that chasing shortcuts is false economy, half the time you don't even know if you're getting the right information. You have to make the decision to either put in the time to learn it properly yourself, or pay someone that really knows the ropes and can deliver you results. "Hi Alastair, I find it interesting that you get turned off by more…shall we call it “pedestrian stuff”. While I agree that some stuff that gets shared just adds to the noise. I think that sharing selected aspects of what makes you…you, add to my personal interest. Particularly so, if you’re looking to develop a relationship with someone. Having said that, Like most people I follow others based on their area of expertise, so I do expect that their sharing mostly consists of their topic. I wouldn’t like it if the ratio suddenly shifted to 90% fluff and 10% what you followed them for. There has to be balance. Hey, I don’t think any body can be an expert in this constantly changing environment. It’s nice to see you around here again, and I appreciate you weighing in with your opinions. PS. "Duncan, I think you should set yourself up some lists and add only people you want to follow to those lists...then all you have to do is check the lists, nobody else will ever appear in there that you didn't put in and you can ignore the rest. Time is a precious thing, dont give it away to people that don't deserve it. One thing's for sure, there's always gonna be another tweet happy nut to take up space where the one you blocked was.
