Entrepreneurship and Risk-Taking in Business are Dead: The Return of the Debtors Prison!
"Hi Yoni, Is there a direct relationship between this and being an indentured servant? They were charged for their living expenses, too, making it next to impossible to pay it off - to the extent that their children were born into the debt, as well. Duncan p.s. For executive criminals like the Enron crowd, I've long (half seriously) said they should spend 99 years in hard labor - like the 3 Stooges - breaking big rocks into little rocks (which intentionally produces nothing of value) dragging a ball & chain on their leg. That'll teach 'em!"An Industry Ripe for Regulatory Overhaul, a Banking System Becoming Irrelevant
"Hi Dwayne, How actively were you watching your account from '95-'02? Were you involved in decisions, or did you let the broker let it wallow? After a decade of growth in the '90's, the market fell c2000 (Enron, Tyco, etc.), giving similar results to masses of people. Duncan"What is USPS?
"Hi Sathish, They're the biggest, but their tracking of packages in most cases is virtually useless. Days after ordering it's still not acknowledged as in their hands - just that there has been "electronic notification" of an impending pickup. This message lasts for days - often for hours After delivery. Further, "delivery confirmation" only proves that the bar-code was scanned, not that the package was delivered to the Correct address, nor does it mean we've received our package. I've been burned too many times, suffered their "tracking" far too often, and had too many packages never arrive - consider me an expert. Duncan"Can your Blog Pass the Salad Test?
"Hi Kiesha, Very tasty article! Funny how things we eat repeatedly can once in a while seem to taste MUCH better - no change in the food, I thinks it's serendipity. Duncan p.s. favorite Johnny Carson Carnac bit - answer: "Dippity Doo". question: "What forms on your dippity over night?""Subscribe
Building Your Small Business’ Public Image: How to Choose The Face Of Your Business Part 1
"Hi Mike, The 1st "brand owner" I saw on a TV commercial was the man who bought the electric razor company in the late '60's/early '70's. The 1st 2-3 times he chuckled when he said he liked the razor so much he "bought the company" it seemed real, and he was mildly amusing. After the 323rd time, his chuckle was so artificial it was annoying. I don't remember anything about him or his product except his phony chuckle. But don't go by me - I'm very hard to please this way. Duncan"
