"Hi Anna, I'm curious - was it a small community hospital, a giant, or a small one taken over by a giant. What freaks me out is that the disconnect is actually in writing. Can you imagine how many people have seen those signs in 4 years? Where's the "caring" that the brass is trying in vain to demonstrate through the nurse's blackboard quotes? The power of the human voice
"Hi Barney, As a former inside phone operator, I can add another difference in memorable voices. Almost all actors have very distinctive voices (via nature & training), but many average people do not. If the TV is on in another room I can usually name the actor sight unseen by their voice. One of the 1st things I noticed as an operator was that in most cases it was difficult to know who called by the sound of their voice - I had to ask who it was. Only people with accents or very high or low voices were decipherable. Maybe we should all get voice coaching? businessavante (Duncan) "
