How To Make A Great First Impression With Your Homepage
"Great, Jason! For the section titled: "Everything is where it is supposed to be" I'd like to paraphrase Jay Leno talking about Johnny Carson. Johnny nailed what a talk show is supposed to be...sure, we all say we're going to improve it, put the band there (on our left), or the chairs there (right of the desk), but it ends up being pointless - the model was already perfected. businessavante (Duncan)"Establish Branding For Your Business or Blog With A Gravatar
"I couldn't agree more, Ileane! It's so easy to do, and you can use it everywhere, which leads to greater recognition on the web. Most people won't follow or friend a silhouette. I wish everyone on BizSugar had their own avatar. If they just typed in Gravatar.com they'd see how ridiculously easy it is. businessavante"To Outsource or Not to Outsource?: A Guide for Small Business Owners
"Hi Adam, I had some experience w/agency temps hired either when someone was on medical leave, or as possible full-time employment if they worked out. They had to learn everything the hospital staff knew, temp, or no temp. What I noticed was they were college students (all but 1 being middle-aged like me), and unlike new employees hired off the street (who were working there as their livelihood), the students all had a "stepping stone" attitude. The hospital job was just a way of marking time till they got their degree & obtained employment in their chosen field. This affected their attitude at work, and their overall performance for reasons that are all too obvious. (Just though I'd add my 2 cents.) buasinessavante (Duncan)"To Outsource or Not to Outsource?: A Guide for Small Business Owners
"p.s. The feeling was palpable - all the regular employees sensed the same thing. It was hard not to by the way they insulted the job (rather than the boss, who was the "Mother of Attila") - how could anyone want to do the job, this is so boring, how can anyone work for this laughable amount of money, etc. businessavante"The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli and Business Leadership
"Great review, Jake! Even earlier, in the dark ages, physical work was left to the farmers, cerfs, & oafs. It was considered beneath contempt for the clergy or nobility to toil. This is part of the mindset that lead to raids by groups like the Vikings. Further, a local lord could only gain mere sustenance by taxing his own people, so raiding the town over the next hill was commonplace. In raiding monasteries, the Vikings actually stimulated the European economy. Up to then when you died, your estate went to the church - all the money was tied up in the church. Also, since Christians were forbidden to trade w/non-Christians, the Vikings had little choice but to plunder (till they became "half-baptized" for business reasons). "I don't know anything about comment moderation, Rivkah. I'm not sure we have it here, but could there have been some kind of glitch? I've had a couple of comments "lost" when my computer froze-up in comment mode for reasons unknown. As far as I know, comments go right through. businessavante (Duncan)"Subscribe

"Hi Anna, I enjoyed the article on "Privilege" ("Men in the Workplace: Power & Privilege" by Paul McConaughy). It's a good rebuttal to your previous posting of Mike Myatt's well-intentioned but idiotic "Diversity & Leadership" from 64 days ago. businessavante (Duncan)"
