"Videos can be very powerful, or quite amusing, but I have 1 suggestion: If it's going to be over 5 minutes long it's likely that a lot of people may listen but not watch - while they're driving (or doing the dishes), for example. Half-hour chunks of time are not lightly granted by the masses unless it's really entertaining, or vitally important. Not that great things shouldn't/can't be said at length, but be forewarned that people who'll take 5 minutes to read a blog won't easily give up 30 minutes to watch or listen to your ideas - look how hard it is to grab a TV audience share - and there's far fewer TV channels than there are blogs. businessavante"Diary of a Whimpy Startup: Part Two
"Years ago, a friend of mine spent 3 YEARS researching which VCR to get - just by reading features in magazines & buying guides. That means I listened to his "theories" for 3 YEARS! He never went to a local electronics store to see if the "dream" machine would play his old tapes w/o a time lag in the video/audio synchronization (if you think it should be automatic thanks to SMPTE code - WRONG - all that mattered was the distance between the video & audio heads). He finally got his fancy new machine & you guessed it - had to send it back to NYC (cheaper there than locally). It wasn't compatible. "From watching this site pretty much around the clock for a few months I'd say it's a waste to post a blog from about 6pm Eastern Friday till Monday morning. "After I wrote the 1st comment above, I realized I left out 1 important factor - there are a few "Stars" on BizSugar who get votes whether their posts are buried or not. They may alert their fans in a news letter, or the people just search them out in "Recently Submitted". The bloggers who aren't getting what I would say is their fair recognition, given the high quality of their output, are the ones I'd advise to post late morning/early afternoon during the week. More readers will have easier access in the 1st few pages of "Recent". businessavante"Subscribe
