3 Free Small Business Tools that allow you to Access your Computer from Anywhere
"Interesting stuff, Ronika! I'm also one who HATES computers!!! I just made the HUGE mistake of loading IE9 (was using 7), and I HATE IT!!!! Now I have to re-learn everything. The magnification adjustment is more troublesome, and I need to adjust it constantly to read articles here between 100, 150, and 200%. I'll never download another "improvement" as long as I live (though it does seem faster). Duncan"Go Ahead And Hit The Publish Button - What Are You Worrying?
"Hi Lye. I agree: I've found it to be a truism in most (if not all) arts - sometimes what we think is our best work isn't well-received, while what we think is average is lauded. I'm not a blogger, but it seems to be a consensus when the topic is addressed in blogs, too. Duncan"Email Marketing: Does Your Newsletter Taste Like Spam?
"Hi Vernessa. Good pointers. The key is whether you gave permission in the 1st place - merely making a purchase (much less a search) does not constitute permission in my book. Somewhere on the customer log-on page should be a box to check if you want the endless stream of forthcoming e-mail "deals", "reminders", and "suggestions" they're so fond of sending (that just annoy the heck out of me). "Hi Thursday. It's likely worse for tele-commuters, but I experienced similar reporting problems just working 2nd shift in a hospital. 1st shift got all the news as it happened, but 2nd was lucky if anyone (including the supervisor) passed it on. Group e-mails might solve the reporting problem. Duncan""Perfect for a Stay-At-Home Mom": Really?
"Good points, Thursday. I always consider the source in these things, and whether it's presented as a stereo-type. I always try to look at people as individuals, and think some people (from differing points of reference) over-play the gender issue either because it's their niche, or because they have an ax to grind one way or the other. I cut some slack if it's their niche. Duncan "Guerrilla Marketing Ideas: 5 Great Guerrilla Marketing Campaigns
"Hi Mir. Funny you mentioned the Goodyear Blimp. I grew up in Akron, Ohio - the former "Rubber Capital of the World" (when I was a kid). Blimps are made of rubber, one reason Goodyear got in on the act when lighter-than-air travel was still viable - before the "Oh the Humanity" tragedy of the Hindenburg in 1937. The blimps when I was a kid 50 years ago were at least twice as big as the "tiny" ones flying now. We used to see them flying around - the low hum of the engines alerted everyone they were in the area, and people would stand outside & watch them go by. In fact, I still see them flying - I live very near Akron. Still the low hum, too. The blimp dock, where they build 'em, has one of the most massive internal expanses anywhere in the world. Condensation forms high up inside (it's a big open space), and it "rains" inside. Duncan"Subscribe
Every Customer Contact is an Opportunity to Sell
"Hi Angel. I've found that if you hit "tone"-zero, many times you can avoid the automated menu and go straight to an operator. It doesn't always work, but it works in many cases. Duncan"
