Hyperactive Hype: Social Media? Not Again!
"Hi Connor, great post and well said! I'm going to add another banana skin, social media certification! what does it mean and how much value is there to being certified? Very little in my opinion. Social media should remain a results business until we actually know what we are dealing with :)"Understanding the B2C customer
"Hi Christina, I think a blog is also a great tool for B2C in terms of reach and building relationships, It's allows consumers an insight into the business and the people behind that business, people need to know that they can trust and this is particularly important to consider for SMEs who will not have the same brand recognition as a larger name. Thanks for sharing, Nial"Are You Selling To Your Market Or Yourself?
"There is an awful amount of B.S. spoken and written about selling, I'm not including your post here Elaine :) In fact there is so much rubbish out there I often wonder how anyone could work it out. In its simplest form selling is about working out how why people buy, and different people buy for different reasons, depending on what they are buying and who they are buying for. Traditional marketing is about appealing to the masses, selling on the other hand is about appealing to the individual so by definition a one size fits all sales approach was and is never going to work. Interestingly perhaps, I think that social media is bringing the gap between marketing and selling. Great social media and great selling have something very much in common - they both heavily depend on listening really well to customers."Web Design Time Travel
"Hi Jennie, great post and I love the Guardian comparison. What amazes me is that there are still some major businesses that are closer to pic 1, and don't appear to have invested at all in their website. Small businesses are one thing but why do you think a large org would still have a website like the Guardian in 1997?"Facebook Business Pages: Facing Them Head On
"HI Sian, I would also advise all businesses to look at creating a customizated landing tab. Remember that people have the option to like lots of pages, so help yourself to stand out from the crowd. Facebook Q&As are a great way to engage your Facebook community."Subscribe
In Today’s Social Media World, Can You Ignore Your Customers?
"Hi Dave, welcome to Bloggertone. It's become so important to now listen online, and taking positive actions quickly with customers is the single best way to ensure situations don't get out of control. It's probably important to also note that there is a common misunderstanding that exists within some businesses, who believe that somehow not having a social media presence ensures that customers won't talk about them online. These businesses need to realize that they will be talked about regardless, but if they're not there and listening, they won't be in a situation to respond."
